The King

A Poem of How I Feel About My Cat, Dagran

'There is the king!'

They scream in joy and delight.

'The king! The mighty king!'

A round of applause surrounds the throne.

As he sits, he judges in silence.

His eyes close slowly and with love.

A soft sound comes from him.

Everything about him speaks love.

His hair, so soft.

Is what cures your soul if you touch.

Hear him, hear him.

People look at him in awe as others cry.

The king, o' mighty king.

Such fur, majestic feline.

As he sit in his throne, looking so calm.

Serene and soft.

His soft purrs soothe the soul.

My demons, in silence they watch.

As the king snoozes.

Be quiet, peasant. Be quiet.

Let the king take away your pains and cries.

Let the king own you with his love.

Let the king do as he pleases.

He means no harm, he wants what is good for you.

The king wants you, your warm and your lap.

Let him bless you with the touch.

Is a blessing of the gods.

Let the king bless you with his cries and purrs.

The sound of his people is what soothes your soul.

Let him hear your troubles.

If you're blessed, he will let you touch his mane.

O' king, heal me.

Let your paws heal my soul as you press them in my chest.

O' king, I am yours to serve.

Mighty lord, my king.
