The Joy of Kid-dom
Every moment can be magic ...
Childhood can be a bliss of memories,
If we remember to teach our children,
To stop and watch, to delve, and explore,
Not just the deep wells of knowledge,
But the tiny moments of colour,
Of movement, of uniqueness, of humour,
Of ultimate life and laughter around them ...
We often forget as as we pass from kid-dom
That life is full of magic, full of possibility,
Full of exciting dots of ultimate splendour,
That can capture our hearts and hands,
That can entice us into worlds and warps,
That far surpass anything in the mundane
Have to, must do, got to, routine, humdrum ...
And when you have children ...
You get that chance to go back there,
To that place of story, imagination, explosion,
To be that magic human being, so full of life
To be an explorer of infinity, boundlessness,
To have energy that pours out forever,
To see a universe so full of possibly
That you just can’t hold it all with both arms ...
Dance, because joy is too exciting to hold in,
Laugh, because life is abundance around you,
Live, because every moment of life holds total
And immeasurable possibility and promise
Watch the children, they can do it so well,
They can teach us to go back there ...
To go forward in newness and hope,
That every minute ahead of us
Can hold enormous reward and satisfaction ...
