The Human Perspective

Chaos or Peace?

I see a world of desperation,

Looking beyond a shattered perspective and perception,

Everywhere I turn is lies and deception,

And everything I hear, there are a thousand accusations,

Of who is right and who is wrong,

But nothing true is ever told,

And with every lie they tell you about your mind, they say be strong,

Hold your head high,

That’s what they say.

Yet while you’re strong, people starve, live in poverty and are dying,

We live in a world that is always lying,

And with every turn of the channel, we see suffering and death,

Yet we point our fingers at each other, rather than helping,

We try and try to help each other with every breath, or do we?

We see disasters and crimes occur and blame a deity we can never understand,

And people lie to themselves to feel comfort, to create a blanket of warmth to feel safe,

We wage wars and fight each other, all for the good of the motherland,

But instead of creating death and destruction, shouldn’t we be reaching out a helping hand?

I have seen the good of this world,

I have a dream, a speech of a saviour who brought hope,

People are equal, or so we believe,

I see a world of the afflicted and bereaved,

And no freedom of the world will cure us.

A disease runs deep in our veins, a disease which corrupts and taints,

A disease that lives and breathes in our body: greed.

We seek a means to feed our greed, and seek what we want,

At the dispense of everything, the creatures, the people, the world and even our humanity,

We attack each other like a bunch of hungry vultures,

As we watch others suffer, we somehow keep our sanity,

What you call normal, I call insanity,

We live a lie, but that is alright, because you say it’s fine, it is normality,

And with every path I take to help,

Humanity is doomed and plagued beyond recognition,

Yet regardless of this I still have hope,

That we can all once again love and feel the love.

I’ll say this to you once so listen carefully,

Please, love each other and wage wars peacefully,

For in every soul, there is a peace, there is a light,

And in each human, no matter how small there is a chance of redemption,

So, no longer be any more deceptive,

Let us forevermore shatter the human perspective…
