when you first open your eyesand see a bright lightyour eyes need to adjustand that's what a friendshipis like with hera shiny new toy

that promises you the worldand in a whirlwind of dinnersand coffees

she moves so fastyou can barely see herand one day you slow down

and your eyes adjust

and the reflections of yourselfthat she absorbed fade awayand suddenly she is transparent

the layers of plastic wrapno longer protect herfor you are all seeing nowher lies are a house of carsshe tried to rebuild everysaturday nightwill anyone ever tell her?we can all see her bones are made of dust
