The Girl in Love with the Ocean

I sit on this shore and watch the setting sun.

I close my eyes and absorb the final rays of warmth.

I breathe in the salty air and feel the wind on my skin.

The ocean whispers to me, caresses me.

Here upon this shore sitting in the sand, I feel free.

My soul flies above the waves with the gulls.

My heart nestles snugly into the sand.

I open my eyes and watch as the sun sinks below the horizon.

Welcoming the quiet of night.

Putting to rest my fears.

Freeing my soul.
