"The Girl From That Time"

An Awkward Moment

There I am, just minding my business–going where I'm going, doing what I do (headphones on 'cause I don't wanna be bothered)–when suddenly I get this feeling: butterflies.

And my eyes meet hers.

I'm in cardiac arrest. Forgot how to breathe. Can't think.

The whole world falls away as this goddess materializes before me.

Am I dreaming?

She floats nearer and my heart is damn-near beating out of my chest

reaching for hers

both of us moving in slow motion and--

Wait, no.

No, no, no.

That's just my legs. Dragging me forward like a robot.

Since when was walking so hard??

Oh God.

She's so close, I gotta say something!

Be cool or be myself?

Or both?

But it's too late, she's passing me.

We've made and broken eye contact four times already and I don't wanna be weird... so I just keep it pushing.

Fuck my life.
