Little girl,

black room,

white dress,

pale hair,

porcelain cheeks,

Hopeful eyes,

shining with curiosity.

Young girl,

hiding arms,

concealing legs,

closing eyes,

and hiding tears.

Small girl,

sitting there,

same black room,

long sleeved lace,

empty eyes,

staring into nothing,

with a mask where her pretty face once shone with hope.

Growing up girl,

tormented by others,

scared to go home,

growing up girl,

pushed to the edge.

Teenage girl,

Somehow survived,

bears marks of her mother,

father,

and them.

bruises new and old,

scars young and aged.

white and faded,

pink and puckered.

Young mother,

run away,

flee from home,

never look back.

Young mother,

vowing to be better than her own...
