The Ghost of Sharon Tate

This poem is about the murder of Sharon Tate and her spirit.

It was August 1969 in the Hollywood Hills.

Sharon Tate was 38 weeks pregnant with a son.

She was exchanging conversation with friends in a rented home she shared with her husband.

This would soon be a night no one would forget.

That no one saw coming.

She was only 26 years old and had her whole life ahead of her, or so she had thought.

Death by a Stab Wound.

She laid on the living room carpet bleeding helplessly.

She would later be found by the housekeeper the next morning.

She would never hold her baby in her arms until after her death.

He would be placed in the coffin with her with his perfect little body and perfect little fingers.

He would never take his first breathe of air that he rightfully deserved.

That all infants are promised.

This tragedy shook Hollywood.

It shook the neighborhood of the wealthy around her.

It shows evil could happen anywhere and it wasn't about how much money you had.

Sharon’s ghost would roam around at night as if nothing had happened.

Her spirit in utter shock.

As if she had never died.

She would be seen by nearby neighbors who had built a house next to where she once called home.

She would be sought out by ghost hunters.

She was beautiful and kind.

She was loved by many and had a promising acting career ahead of her.

All of this was cut short by the hate of another.

A cult leader telling his followers to murder the innocent and spare no victims.

The Manson family.

Sharon was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Her home had previously been rented by a record executive who had turned down a music contract with Charles Manson.

Due to his mental illness, he was unable to understand someone else lived in this home now.

The new tenant knew nothing of him and caused him no heartache.

The new tenants of the home paid the ultimate price with their lives.

She was more than just a pretty face.

She was a style icon and had a kind heart.

Anyone who speaks of her says she was wonderful and loved by many.

No one saw this coming and no one would want her dead.

She didn’t have those kinds of enemies.

Only those who looked up to her and wanted to be like her someday.

She was an innocent target and became the face of victims rights.

Sharon's memory lived on.

Her sister penned a book about her.

Her blood would not allow her to be forgotten by the media.

She would not be forgotten by the world.

She was one of the six murdered within a 48-hour time frame.

These murders shocked the world.

They shook the rich and famous.

Noone would be the same again.

All due to the hate one man had for someone who rejected him.

All because of a cult leaders ability to manipulate his followers into taking the lives of innocent people.

The ghost of Sharon Tate will haunt Hollywood forever and raise awareness that you never can be too safe, even in your own home.
