The Game

I’m just the biggest failure,

Always trying something new.

But this time I will make it,

Please, I swear it’s true.

I know you don’t believe me,

It’s the same old story to you.

But something happened recently,

My heart was broken bad.

I found something inside of me,

I didn’t know I had.

So this time will be different

Now that I know what I have.

I found it in my bedroom,

I know how strange it sounds

That in a bedroom all alone,

Is where my strength was found.

But I guess I needed lonely nights

To help me come around.

This time will be different,

Because I’m not the same.

The toad I took was long and hard

The price was high to pay.

But I’ve come back stronger than before

And I’m going to win the game.
