The Future Awaits

Rain drops fall

Like the beat of a drum

They set me to sleep

As the day becomes done

The new day awaits

As my eyes grow tired

Tomorrow will come

As the sun's unexpired

Each day is an opportunity

For something new to take place

A way to start over

For something new to embrace

As this night falls away

So too do my regrets

Mistakes are in the past

And lessons learned become assets

For the future is near

And always to come

We can use each new day

As an opportunity to learn from

Don't ever stop changing

Because you can always excel

As that rain marked the future

and the past not to dwell
