The Forest

Poem

Life is a lot like a forest

Everything is so beautiful from the outside

But once you try to explore that beauty

It engulfs you

Chews you up

And spits you right the fuck back out

The funnier part

Is that you you're going to encounter animals in the forest

But that is all they are

Animals

Trying to survive in the fucked up

Terrain we call life

Same with people everyday

All we are doing is surviving

Looking out for ourselves

Trying to survive in the world

That chews us up

And spits us back out

Finally one day

Our light has burned out

We have lost our way

In the forest of life

We stop on our beaten path

Our mind pleading for us to quit

To end it all

To stop the senseless pain

But then out of this pain

And the thorn like brush

We have walked for so long

A savior emerges

Someone to pull you to your feet

To bring you out of the forest

To hold your hand

Through it all

To spark your light

And carry you

To the paradise

That you have so long

Been searching for

On the other side of the forest

You are that savior

You are the person

That will lead me to my paradise

On the other side

Of my forest

And I too will be

Your savior
