The Fall Chronicles (2)

In my inconsistent hurricane, you are the eye.

The way that the sunset lights the red and orange leaves on fire within the trees reminds me of the way that you are the sunset and my heart is the leaves,

in the best way of course, because the sunset never actually sets the leaves on actual fire - the light of the setting sun reflects upon the leaves changing with the season, turning red and orange and yellow with time, and the light illuminates their shades.

Sometimes I think that if I picked the leaf off of its branch, it would burn - but it never does.

Sometimes I think that if you stay in my life, you'll suddenly disappear from it - but you never do.

In my inconsistent hurricane, you are the eye.

The constant fire, the constant, the calm, the fire that never burns.
