The Eclipse of the Ellipsis

An Original Poem

All I know is,

I think of you.

You are like summer,

Burning my skin, inside and out.

But lucky for me, the tears cooled me down.

Seasons come to an end,

And eventually, you will too,

But I don’t care.

I’ve already lost so much more,

Lost myself.

They warned me about you.

You are like sunshine,

Until it pours,

But then you show your rainbow,

And suddenly, I forgot.

I loved you in secret…

I knew what people would say,

Everyone’s so quick to judge.

They don’t know what it’s like,

To be so far, yet so close, yet so far.

Everyone knows everything,

But they know nothing about us.

You broke down all the walls I put up,

And eventually broke me.

You loved me in desperation…

Maybe this is lust,

Maybe this is everything,

Maybe this doesn’t even exist outside our minds.

Maybe we’ll last,

Maybe we won’t.

I think of you and,

All I know is…
