The Dream

I dreamed of uniting Africa. Back to when being African was

all that mattered and tribalism was the idea of the stupid and

hateful, but it was just an idea.

I dreamed of uniting each

tribe into a nation, under one idea, that being the love of life

above all other ideas.

I dreamed of African kings throwing

their crowns to the people in a gesture that would wipe out

class-ism.

I dreamed of Africa united under one government,

where every citizen’s voice was heard, where the majority and

the minority did not exist.

I dreamed of the bloodshed in the

uniting of Africa, because some would rather use their power

to build and some would listen to no reason and destroy all

will. I have seen the death of leaders who valued position

over life, soldiers who were loyal to kings not to the idea of

humanity and a life of fighting for peace.

I dreamed of

children dying, mothers crying because men refused to

acknowledge defeat at the hands of life’s truths.

I dreamed of

mighty nations drawing arms for fear of a black super power

because all they would see was another threat. But in the

end it was not because I dreamed of smiling eyes that cried

joyous tears that Africa was united. It was because men

valued something bigger than themselves, something bigger

than philosophy.

I dreamed for the advancement of my

people mentally, spiritually and physically. I dedicate

this wholeheartedly to my people, the human race!
