The Downfall of Trust

[Poem]

Sorry is an insubstantial word,

Just saying it doesn't mean you're forgiven,

To break someone's trust in you, is a sin.

Relationships are temporary fantasies,

Fabricated by emotions,

If one of them is betrayal,

It can never be changed.

You cannot buy forgiveness,

Nor happiness,

Thought one cannot be happy,

Knowing that they have betrayed,

A friend.

The downfall of trust,

Is something you want to avoid,

Knowing that you are not trusted,

Hurts.

But what is more painful,

Is losing the trust you once had,

"To hate something you used to love is a painful feeling"

Hate blackens the soul,

Never to come to light.

The downfall of trust,

Is something that cannot be built back up,

No matter what you did,

Or who you are,

You will never be trusted again...
