The Definition of Me (Part 2)

By Current Definition, I’m a twenty six-year-old adult,

I’m a light-skinned African American,

with tattoos.

By Definition, I’m at a point of an awakening,

Of self-conscience and self-growth.

In my quarter-life crisis. (Four more years to go).

By Definition I care, I care a lot.

I have a deep heart,

It’s a strength and weakness.

I’m confident in my voice,

Even when it shakes,

I’m slowly learning to just flow with the universe,

Knowing things will work in the end.

I cannot forget my anxiety,

Because that’ll always be a part of me.

Including the depression

That weighs me down in the sea of life.

I get lost in my thoughts far too often.

I need to learn how to be more present.

By definition, I crave connections,

But I also desire solitude from others.

It's a conflicting tormenting inner battle,

Of knowing my self-worth,

As well as trying to guess has others values me.

But I guess that comes with this depression,

This constant of everlasting source,

Of negative energy.

That's inside of me.

Self care

Self love

Meditation,

Is my new dedication.
