The Death of a Hero
Original Poems of Heartbreak and Realization
Have you ever watched someone die infront of you
Their heart still beating,
Their lungs still breathing,
More like the death of an ego,
A persona you put in your own head,
Start to fade away,
Until you see their true colors,
It feels like rain in your soul,
Where the once was a burning fire,
No more hoping they are different,
Cause they’re just like the rest,
Just a different strain,
It hurts like a stab to a vein,
But not yours,
Cause you’re growing,
In knowing,
It was just a death of a hero,
And they are still living,
But you continue,
Without second guessing.
Breaking Apart
I know these feelings are just passing,
But that is the scariest part to me.
The feel of missing you,
Like another part of me,
Living, breathing, beating.
The better half,
Who doesn’t see me,
My heart tries everything.
But I know I cannot be with you.
For you don’t see me and you’re not the one for me.
