The Cave

On this snow-capped mountain

I climb higher and higher

White peaks show

Glistening in the sun

I find a dark,

Gloomy cave

Icicles forming

Water drips from the very tips

The walls of the cave

Sparkle from the diamonds

Peaking through

Walking in,

Winding through small spaces

Breathing in the fresh salty air

Of water that is nearby

Hearing it trickle,

I move on.

There, in front of my very eyes

A waterfall;

White, tan and green pebbles

Lay at the bottom

Of the clear, blue water

Looking up I see

A clearing in the roof of the cave

The sun shines through

Beaming over and sparkling

In the never-ending stream

That leads down

A winding path

I pull out my camera

And take a picture

As it flashes,

Two bluebirds swoop down

And over my head

Then fly out through the clearing

In the roof of the cave.
