The Calm Before the Storm

I was calm, until i met you

my waters were still, until you came along

it was slow at first

a little drizzle, a little thunder

but i began to love it, i loved it so much

that i was completely oblivious

to the strength you gained over time

and baby, soon enough

you came across me with the strength of a hurricane

my heart was stuck in the eye

so i never saw what you were doing to me

and once you passed me

the destruction you caused

was unreal

my heart was broken

beyond repair

and love, after you came

i finally understood why

they named storms after people.
