The Bookkeepers' Hymn

This is dedicated to all those who look after the books.

Who keeps the digital records?

Take in your hand time,

And clasp onto it tightly.

Money flows like rhyme,

And exchanges daily and nightly.

You have only one set of rules.

The precedent you set for yourself,

Is how you use the tools,

And put another jar of cash on the shelf.

You crave the work and value it.

Your words are the channels.

The more you make is how you get

To delve through the annals.

You’re a bookkeeper now, but a teacher you’ll be one day.

You’ll be a success at both endeavors,

And accomplishment will be all you’ll say.

You must be the one who pulls the levers.

Remember always that it’s about what you do.

Never forget all that you’ve been through.
