The Best Days

You can't see the smile I'm faking, but I'm completely numb. In my head we're over, but you act like we've just begun.

You say I seem unhappy, that something needs to change. But you can't see I've lost it and somethings are meant to be that way. I am so sorry that I cannot stay.

Because I make a point to stand on my own two feet. My life's on a tough road and it's beating me. Then just when I think I've found my place, you come in and make my heart race.

I need a straight line to follow you send me down this crazy, narrow ways. I need a break.

What's a goodbye without a few tears? I've still got the memories but I'm on my own from here. I'll watch as you fade from my life and I'll learn sorrow but, these are the best days of my life.
