The Beach
First Trip of the Year (College Edition) Poem-ish
That day after exams are out, when you and your friends don’t have a care in the world.
You all hop into a vehicle and blast the tunes from the radio, windows rolled down and the scent of fresh air.
That drive is worth the 45 minutes and $20 in gas one way, it’s so worth it.
Everyone piles out of the car and for the first time since college ended I can enjoy the view.
A towel to lay on and a speaker to blast some beachy tunes.
When the weather is in your side, the sky's clear and blue, as the sun warms your skin.
The beach was a last minute idea, but it’s an idea you’ll remember. An idea that helps make concrete bonds.
The first dive into the frigid waters, and the race to get out and warmed up before you do it again.
The first trip of the year means the most, for after that you’ll have plenty of beach adventures to come.
Along with a bunch of cold ones.
