The Adventures of Today

As I set out on these adventures of today

I worry

Will I be okay

I left the troubles

To set out to find the new

To reach new heights that I've never seen before

Will I make it

Will I survive

I've not always been a fan of heights

Sure I can stand on a ladder and pretend I'm an acrobat

Twisting my body into different contortions

While remaining to control my balance

I've always been told that falling is not an option

But how will I learn

If I keep things the same

Playing it safe

And wishing things would remain

I set out on new adventures

Hoping that my legs have the strength to support me

Even if I shake

Even if I crumble

I am done running away

It is time to get up and make things rumble

Just like an elephant

Not stopping until the day is done

I'm setting out

In seek of the adventures of today

I may be afraid

But I know

I can make it through the day
