That Smile

Where did it go?

The white frosted tombstones that not everybody see's are aching with perfect agony.

They dream to be seen, to be admired, to be stared at. They appear once in a blue moon, when the stars are perfectly alined in there loved one's eyes shining in light of your dimly lit corner booth of your favourite run down bistro.

The pearl whites that are stuck in place crave to unscrew themselves and find a home deserving of their beauty for you do not show them anymore. You seemed to have forgotten about them, ignoring there desperate pleads and begs to be shown once more.

However, there once was a time when your bridgework was constantly on show, a time when your cheeks yearned for a break from being upturned for so long. A time when you looked happy. A time where the corners of your eyes would crinkle and the socket of your dimples would emerge. A time where the blue of your pupils would be deep pacific oceans your fellows companions would get lost in, looking for a piece of wreckage to grab on to out of fear of drowning.

But like I said it was once a time, a time long forgotten that no body even expects it anymore.

Blowing out your birthday candles is met with a tight rimmed uprise, receiving compliments are met with even colder framed art work. Anything and every thing is met with edged slender slits known as lips.

Yes this was all about a smile, but let me tell you this smile wasn't just any ordinary grin. This smile was filled with hope, ecstasy and rapture. It could make mankind battle for a front seat to be blinded by it and dames gawk at it in rivalry.

Yes this was all about a smile, but now THAT smile has been kidnapped and shipped away to the darkest parts of the land, leaving behind a blank canvas no artist wants to paint on.
