That's Okay, I Have to Say

About a Broken Heart

You broke my heart

like it was glass,

shattered to a million pieces

like to yourself it was worthless.

But that's okay,

you are not the first

I have to say.

You made me break

one more time;

drowning in my cold lake alone

one more time...

But I will pick my pieces up.

Stick them together,

although never the same.

You are not the first

I have to say.

And I'll give them again

for you to hold,

once they are glued back to one.

But please don't drop it once again,

for my heart is fragile

like an unexplored isle,

and I am not sure

how many more mistakes

it is able to take.

Because, trust me, if I could

fix it every time, I would.

However, each time it breaks

it never goes back to being the same.

So here, take it!

You can have it again.

It's yours to break it

or hold it dear.

Treat it with care, if you may.

If not, that's also okay.

You won't be the last,

I hate to say.
