That Call Changed My Life

To my beloved grandma

That call changed my life

Your thoughts, all came in rife

Could not see anything except your face

Seemed like everything had lost its pace

Since the day I began this excursion

Your guard made it full of compassion

Your conduct inspired my character

Your sessions un-wrapped my caliber

That day you were lying with eyes shut

Denying participation in the usual rut

Hurriedly and fearfully took your hand in mine

Surprisingly you opened your eyes with a shine

You smiled like a toddler

Nodded to my tearful blabber

Shivers of divine pleasure prickled my spine

Felt that now everything would be fine

Realized but did not accept that the moment was ephemeral

You had begun your journey that would make you eternal

I was not ready to unchain

But you were not to remain

Life has since not been the same

It feels I live just for the name

That call changed my life

Your thoughts, all came in rife
