I have to thank you, really I do

Even though you never did anything to deserve my forgiveness

Sure you tore me down

Wore away my soul

Made me feel like I was three feet tall

But you also helped me to realize how strong I could actually be

Because of you I now know I can survive on my own

I know now what true love actually feels like and what I truly deserve

While you were busy trying to figure out how to destroy me

I learned how to build myself into something stronger

So thank you for treating me like I was replaceable because now others cannot live without me

Thank you for showing me that I was a Queen because now I am treated as if I wear made of gold

While I will never forget how much I suffered under your reign

I will also never forget who I used to be

And how much of what I have today I can attribute to the person I am now because of you
