Poetry: Earth, the ultimate mother figure.

I am earth, bearer of the primordial womb;

Time plants his seeds within my hinterland,

Life takes root: nourished by sea and sun,

Continual pulses emanate from the deep:

All beings and many inanimate substances

Issue forth from loins fostering existence

From low reserves of regenerative affection

Trees sip the nectar of eons for sustenance,

Beasts stamp in worship; I grant them power,

Infusing speed to their limbs as they galumph

Across swaying grasses and shifting sands,

The beat of their perambulation gladdens me

Even the human creature, shaped from dust,

Carries shards of pride in illustrious legacy

Sharing kinship with river, mountain and plain:

A sovereign who bows to no other organism,

You are the suckling of my expansive bosom;

I provide all means of survival in abundance

My puissance lay dormant in some instances

While gestating brilliant jewels within viscera;

I remind my progeny of their subservience

With famine and temblors in times of scorn:

Mortal, regard this realm with great reverence,

For in your expiration, unto me you must return.
