The Moment Lust Becomes Love

A wave whose tides ripple from my toes

scales up my bones

the chill of winter sea swirls up my thighs

in your touch my anticipation lies

as a crest of lapis blue reaches up

and up

to my hips, your secret abode

and you crash and splash and fold and mold

the path for a sparked fuse

I know not how a fire thrives

within a sea of cold

but it tugs up

and up

the ignition travels a vertical

ivory railroad

brick by brick

to a destination that ticks and ticks

and pounds

in a thoracic home

and cage of bone.

Challenge: tell someone you love them
