Others feel the way that you do
Read a little more, I'll prove that it's true
Fighting, screaming, beatings and more
Put downs and name callings, you are a whore
Give me your keys and your phone, where in the hell have you been
You just got off work, but you're not going to win
Crying and begging, for it all to stop
Only to end up on the floor, with him on top
Bruises and bleeding, handfuls of hair pulled out
You just want it to stop, but it does no good to shout
The pain that you feel, the tears that you cry
He stands and looks at you, then starts to lie
He's so sorry, you did it, you made him this way
It wouldn't happen if you'd listen, then you wouldn't have to pay
No privacy at all, not even for a sec
Continuous phone calls, and hundreds of texts
Your self-esteem gone, your life spiraling out of control
Everything's on a downhill roll
You live a double life at work and at home
Your heart is broken, you feel so alone
You try harder and harder, to make him happy, so it will stop
You keep taking the beatings, instead of calling the cops
I know all of this because, I was there
Got to the point, I just didn't care
Life gets much better, but you have to get away
Live your life happy, day by day
