Taste

A Poem

Your name

tastes like

Cigarettes.

It used to

taste like adventure

and laughter

and a smile.

Your name

tastes like

I'm drowning,

like I drank

the ocean.

It used to

taste like strawberries.

Your name

tastes like

broken promises:

jagged and covered

in blood.

It used to

taste like

Forever.

Your name

tastes like

withdrawal.

It used to

taste like

it would never end.

Your name

tastes like

giving up

sad poetry
