Taking up Space

Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to hold on, there isn't space for everyone to stay in your life.

What do I do with your Christmas gifts?

How do I wear our matching clothes?

What do I do with the flowers you painted me

the leftover purple hair dye from our last sleepover

the secrets we shared

the tiara you borrowed for our senior prom

the places we were going to go together

the nights up talking until 3:36 AM

the hidden pain you always knew how to soothe

the half-heart key chains, custom made just for us...

What do I do with our pictures?

I threw all the frames in a drawer,

hoping to pull them out once it all got better.

When will it get better?

Please, I need it to get better...

I don't think it's ever getting better.
