Taking Action

Why do we wait,

Until it’s too late,

Before we try to make a change?

Maybe because,

We’re too ignorant or arrogant,

To realise our initial mistakes,

Or maybe we have this,

Senseless faith,

That everything will work out fine in the end,

Even though,

We know,

There won’t be enough time,

To make amends.

We register our wrong-doing,

But, do we ever turn it round?

No,

We continue aimlessly,

Doing the same we’ve always done,

We know the facts,

But we never learn,

It goes in one ear and out the other,

A train of thought,

Travelling through one head to another.

We just watch on,

Like life is a reality show,

As our forests are destroyed,

Our species endangered,

And our very long term existence threatened,

And whilst there are so many efforts,

It’ll never be enough,

Until we all accept the responsibility,

Of looking after our Planet Earth.
