Take Me to a World, Other Than My Own

Subtle and Quick With No Chance of Regression

Take me to a world other than my own.

Where the sky is blue and the sea is clear, where

The day is brighter than a baby’s cheer.

Where love is undoubted, abundant and free.

Where every day is one lived in glee.

Take me to a world other than my own.

So, I can sleep care free,

with no urge to flee.

With the freedom to roam

Beaming crown, sparkling and loud.

From cheek to cheek,

but still so discreet.

Take me to world other than my own.

Instead of the life that I mistreat,

Beat down, stomp and made to feel incomplete.

Instead of the pain on my shoulders, back and feet.

Mouth, eyes, ears and heart so deep.

So dark, cold, glum and futile. Instituted, shut, invisible, docile. Angry, dangerous, fickle and meek.

This is not a world I want to meet. To reach my destiny that’s old and petite. So, that I may later critique and use to my own deplete.

Take me to a world other than my own. So, I can finally determine to whom I shall bow, no longer feeling ill and forever down.

I want out.

About the Creator

Sylvia Ekanem

I'm passionate about books, generally fiction and poetry. currently, trying to write a fictional based book at the moment, 100% determined to finish it, may take a few years but I'm sure it would be worth it.
