Take Back the Crown
This piece is one written with love out of anger. Anger for our people here and the ones lost. Anger towards those who don’t understand, and those who don’t want to understand. It’s time for us to unite.
We come from kings and queens
A lineage of royalty
From the beginning of time
The world formed from our bloodline
Along the way
The story mixed with lies
And what we were told
Destroyed our strong ties
Now the time has come
To reclaim our rights
To let them know
We’re going to stand up and fight
No more apologies
We’re done being sorry
Gonna hold our heads high
Re-write our own story
We’re going to win
It’s already written in the book
Time to control the reigns
And make them look
They can’t block our shine
They can’t keep us down
Because now is our time
