Contempt is being bred everywhere, in prison landings and cells, where all kinds of despicable individuals reside. John, a tall man standing at six foot four and weighing two hundred and twenty pounds, is incarcerated for murdering his wife. Fife is in prison for the illegal sale of firearms. Hakeem is there for involvement in drug dealing. Kevin is a murderer, although I can't recall the specifics of his crime. As for myself, I'm serving time for causing severe bodily harm—I nearly killed a man at his wedding, right in front of his bride!

Red flags
Deep down, I think I like the red flags, the familiarity of them. All the warning signs feel like excitement at first, muffling the little voice in the back of my head, the one who asks questions, thinks things through, the one who knows better.
