Sunset
You begged me to stay with you while we watched the sunset into the trees, leaving the sky to go dark.
You held me so tightly I could not move, and kissed me as if you would die if you were not tasting me.
You cried and begged and promised all the things you had promised before.
Promising to never break the promises you had shattered one too many times before.
I ignored you, but I should have listened.
The sun sank with no remorse, like how I walked away from you.
I'm watching the sunset without you, begging for you to come back.
