Summer’s End

And the Void Between

Terror seeps through every alley.

Every tree has lost its shade.

Every eyelid sleeps wide open.

Comfort slowly slips away.

Hellish shadows in the distance

watch and wander in the deep.

Empty hallways bring a presence.

Down these earthen walls they creep.

Somewhere in an old dimension

all-consuming evil speaks.

Forever wandering spies of darkness,

bringing death to those they seek.

If only we had never been there,

where devils dwell around the bend,

we wouldn’t be lost in this nightmare;

in the land of Summer’s End.
