Summer's Night

Enchanting

The sun has fallen beyond the horizon,

The moon playfully starts across the sky.

Tonight, she is bold and full.

Silver blue light graces everything,

Her light canceled out in towns and cities.

Nature's nightlight calls forth her companions,

Laying to rest her equal’s combatants.

The stars twinkle greetings,

Lightening bugs flash their response.

Everything seems to glow now with that enlightening silver blue.

Ripples on the water draw me nearer to the edge.

There the show has merely started,

Frogs sing their toons nearly in unison,

The water graced with rippled patterns that entrance.

Looking up the valley shimmers like a dream scape.

Timid dear graze and field mice skitter,

Down swoops the owl silent in the night air.

I lay in the soft grass lulled to sleep by the night symphony,

This is my summer's night out.
