Summer Dream

Poetry

The haunting ripples of the waves fill the silence

The deep and reflective blue

The glowing sparkling fish cut through the water

Droplets spewing into the air dodging the disturbance

The waves chase my peaceful resting feet in the thermal hills and valleys of sand

The source of life, the yellow and white orb ascends into the heavens

Making eye contact with me

The whistling leaves and rustling trees to every angle

The fresh and luscious green in the crest of the summer

Mallards and geese float down into the endless array of dreamy warm blue

The sudden cooling gray of clouds surround

Teardrops of the sky absorb with the silver reflective water

Goosebumps develop and spread from head to toe

The moist and warmth dampening of the summer with light showers defies the sunny day

The glowing orb shoves it’s path through the depressing gray

Replenishing the pleasant heat

Refreshes the glimmering water surface

enlightenment occurs once again

My eyes free themselves of closure

I lurch awake from the sounds of the swirling winds against my bedroom window

I open my curtains to see treacherous and powerful deadly crystals fill up the yard

My breath condensates the window against that horrific blizzard in the exterior

The dry and freezing atmosphere closes in around me

I close the window and slip back into the warmth of my blankets disappointedly

I close my eyes and wonder

It was only a dream.

And I slowly slip back into a peaceful euphoric slumber.
