Summer Ash

Australian summers and bushfires.

A tree half on fire half on green, FoxMaster is my artist penname

Swaying softly in the breezeThe leaves begin to disintegrateAs the earth warmed up the groundBecoming a warning of the summer approaching

Night becomes shorter with little sleepAs days develop into festering heatBlinding light turns into second nature

Shade underneath the trees become our shelter Water consumes our friendship Except for those who are in love with Summer With its season nature blooms into life

Fires perk up around the brittle leaves Dancing their short-fuelled lives As the summer breeze swirls around them Giving them their freedom to be one with nature

Alas for them as water drown them Altering into ash of the destroyed Burnt remnants of what once stood With still wind as if it was holding its breath Surrounding the ashen earth of faded passion it once held
