Suicide Cycle

The Response Poem to a Suicide

If you were to die today my sanity you would take

If you were to leave today my heart would feel the quake

An earthquake of crumbling disposition

My ground shifts as the casket is lowered

Six feet under has never felt farther

The fear "I wasn't there"

The tears "I swear I cared"

Here and there

Illusions don't spare

My mental state sinks below

Even lower than your bones

The doc says "give it time"

But time is of no essence

Without you by my side

My life seems to crumble

I can't find my footing

Nor my lungs in my chest

If I breathe I can not tell

For without you im already dead

The cycle continues

The gun drawer is open

There's no hope for my minds salvation

I'll join you now in Hades' nation
