Can you be your own worst enemy?
After everything that has happened
My feelings taken advantage of
My heart taken to its extreme
This broken heart will never mend

I have given my all
I have played my cards
And it hasn’t worked out

The days have grown darker
And with each passing day
The light inside of me extinguishes

I am now dead to you
I am dead to the world
It is six feet under where I rest

My life is now left to my legacy
What shall it hold, will it bring joy?
I am now an angel with wings
This broken heart has mended
So never shall I need to breathe again

A CLOSE ENCOUNTER
Stars twinkled brightly in a moonless sky, reflecting in the calm waters of Lake George in the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York. It was a warm August night, as we laid back in the boat, marveling at the magnificent Milky Way. Dark skies made the stars more brilliant at this time of year, especially during a new moon, causing wonder and enchantment. We never tired of stargazing while floating on water, a truly immersive experience.
