Such a pretty little box.
So neatly wrapped and placed.
Not wanting to touch or open, yet curious as to what’s inside.
Such a pretty little box.
Beautifully decorated to mask the unknown chaos within.
Afraid to unleash the havoc it may cause.
Such a pretty little box.
Conformed to the possessor’s desires and way of life.
Going unhanded for as long as possible.
Such a pretty little box.
Placed high enough so little hands cannot reach.
Never damaged, not even a tear.
So dark in here.
I want out to explore the world.
Feeling captive in a strange place.
So dark in here.
Isolated from a reality I only hear of.
Protected by the monsters fearing their own reflection.
So dark in here.
There must be more to life than this darkened world.
Need to spread my wings outside this cramped space.
So dark in here.
I don’t even know what I look like.
My senses are so obscure.
So dark in here.
Living up here on a shelf.
In such a pretty little box.
