Struggle

Smothered

There are knots in my back and I can’t get them out

‘Tween rolling and stretching and lolling about

There are knots in my back and I can’t get them out

There are bumps in my skin and I can’t get them out

‘Tween scratching and clawing and picking them out

There are bumps in my skin and I can’t get them out

There’s dirt in my eyes and I can’t get it out

‘Tween rubbing and blinking and crying it out

There’s dirt in my eyes and I can’t get it out

There’s soot in my ears and I can’t get it out

‘Tween pulling and prodding and blowing it out

There’s soot in my ears and I can’t get it out

There’s mud in my teeth and I can’t get it out

‘Tween licking and drinking and sucking it out

There’s mud in my teeth and I can’t get it out
