Stranger in the Mirror

Who are you?

A normal start to a normal day

The sun it shines the birds it shines.

And the somber echo of children’s laughs still rings

Everything seems the same and all is calm.

But for some reason, you’re clutching your palms.

As you stand before yourself you see a shadowed figure.

The figure hides in the silhouette of your eyes.

You see a person that didn’t always exists.

Hmm now isn’t that an unflavored twist.

Now you look with great intensity to find your identity.

A chilled wind flows through your bones and in no case do you confine in its zones.

You stare back at yourself and wonder if your soul was worth that little wealth.

Who are you now, are you the one you say you are.

When did you become someone else maybe it was when you stole to be cool.

Or maybe the time you skipped school.

Lost are we who follow those who they theirselves don’t know where they’re going.

Yet you claim to be original, the one who would make a difference.

Ha your just spoon feeding yourself lies, I guess it's only your heart that cries.

Now you’re just the thing you said you wouldn’t be.

In a just world, you would be the fool who couldn’t see.

It's too late now, you have to stay on trial.

Are you happy now do you feel special, where are those cool friends now?

The sun descends and the moon transcends on another cold day.

Banded for dead and labeled by the mere sight of your head.

Too late for dread or to think of what you could have done instead.

The person you once were is maybe dead and there's nothing else to be said.

A different path awaits those who think corruption is the right path.

Now what, do you still want a life of tears.

The moment you gave up your identity is the moment you lost your purity.

Now look in the mirror again and maybe you’ll find the place your old selves been.
