Stop Watering Dead Plants

Choose you.

I slap, pinch, and get really mad at myself when I do the most crappy things. Like "hey dummy why do you keep doing that?" I always want my flowers to bloom, but apparently each flower requires its unique kind of care. You know how you plant your seeds and happily wait for them to grow? I mean the effort, time and patience. You invest all this to get the best result at the end of the season. Unfortunately, some plants don't bloom and that's okay. I repeat, "it is okay." You have a whole garden, continue to nurture the little ones and plant even more. Don't let one failed harvest get in the way of a million more successes.

It's the same thing with people. Let it be friends, a lover, or even family. Stop fighting battles that have no battlefields. Everything has it's purpose, just like watching that flower grow steadily. It brings you hope; any rational human being needs hope because as much as you're uncertain you keep on keeping. In this case, when you have someone in your life, you make room for progress for better days to come because two is better than one. But when the plant dies, everything is a standstill for a minute. Do you keep adding fertilizers? No! Do you keep watering it? No! You let it die and create room for new plants. That's just how life is when people hurt, disappoint, or even don't bring anything to the table. You do not hold on because you have nothing left to hold on to.

Learn to master the art of detachment. It can be hard sometimes, but sit down, weigh your options, and pick where the happiness is. I repeat, "choose that which makes you happy." You owe yourself happiness—happiness from within. Your intuition agrees too. Detachment comes with hurt and hurt comes with wounds that leave scars. Those scars are the one thing that will keep your eyes on the ball. That which really matters.

They're a constant reminder of where you went wrong and how can go right about it now. So buckle up and don't look back.
