Stone Heart

A Poem of Despair

I have a heart of stone

A gift from you

I feel it pulling, weighing me down

I convince myself it is making me stronger

It's healthy

It's improving me

Up until you cast me into the sea

It's a weight

Pulling me under

The stone in my chest keeps me from breathing

Water filling my lungs

I beg for help

But no one hears my cries

I am alone

I am drowning

With my heart of stone
