Stay with Me

Poem

Cuts on her arm,

Tears in her eyes,

She wasn't thinking of harm,

Everything disguised by lies.

In fear and desperation,

She grabbed the booze,

And went into the forest,

Thinking there was nothing to lose.

Quickly she found out,

It wouldn't hide the demons inside.

She drank till' it was dry,

But the horror wouldn't hide.

She stumbled through the forest,

Looking for a sign.

Little did she know,

She had crossed the line.

Her mother sat and wept,

Thinking of her little girl.

She locked her door,

Not letting in the cruel world.

She stared down from the heavens,

Watching her mother cry.

Knowing if she had stayed,

She could've dried her pain-filled eyes.
