Starlight to Sunlight
A Sonnet About the Natural Beauty of Daylight

As I wait here trapped by the moon's harsh night
I stare and pray for a break of light.
For night is cold and oh so dark
Where evil lurks and stares do mark,
The sun shall free us from icy fare
Just as dusk, we cannot bare.
Alas, the sun each morning’s rise
And with her life does freedom fly.
Bright rays do touch the earth’s bold curve
And happiness is her reserve.
For daylight shakes away fresh pain
From human heart with hatred’s stain.
The sun does warm the sky and earth,
And within her care, our soul’s rebirth.
